Legislative Committee - Setting Priorities for Advocacy Efforts

Setting Priorities for KASB Advocacy Efforts

KASB Legislative Listening Tour

KASB’s Legislative Listening Tour includes stops in each KASB region across the state and will conclude with a virtual session.

These sessions give members the opportunity to help shape KASB’s legislative priorities for 2026. Input gathered on the tour will be presented for approval at the KASB Annual Convention in November. Once adopted, these priorities guide the work of KASB’s Advocacy Team in Topeka and Washington, D.C.

We created a short video to explain how the process works.

KASB Legislative Committee

The KASB Legislative Committee helps craft the legislative priorities of the association. The committee comprises representatives appointed by the KASB president from each of KASB’s 10 geographic regions. In addition, the five largest member school districts each select a board member to serve on the committee. The immediate past president of KASB chairs the committee.
