Participants have the opportunity to experience specialized, full-day sessions between 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, at the Sheraton Hotel Overland Park. Join KASB staff and partners as we provide specialized ways to lead, serve, and advocate for our school communities.

KSSA is again excited to offer a day of learning and collaboration during the Annual KASB conference. On Friday, KSSA will continue to explore conversations around the upcoming Kansas Legislative session, Critical Race Theory, and KESA. We have also invited in a few special guests, including Joe Sanfelippo, Superintendent in Fall Creek, WI. http://www.jsanfelippo.com/.
Joe was honored as 2019 K-12 Education Dive's National Superintendent of the Year. Joe is an exceptional speaker and will bring a message to our Kansas Superintendents on being intentional as a leader. The Friday, November 5th session will run from 8:00 - 2:00. We have also invited our participants to join the KSSA Board of Directors and McGown Gordon for dinner on Thursday evening, November 4th, at 6:00 PM.
Meeting All Kids’ Needs | Hawthorne 1 & 2
Meeting All Kids' Needs is a pre-convention program offering a unique tour and experience to learn about local districts and their innovative projects or programs. Each attendee will be able to tour one district in the Kansas City area. Tours will depart from the Sheraton Hotel at 8:00 a.m. and return in the afternoon. We will have a short program afterward for attendees to share what they learned.
Winter School Law | Maple
Join the KASB attorneys and special guests for our Annual Winter School Law. Content includes many timely legal topics school attorneys are currently encountering. We will have six sessions that are 50 min with two 15 min breaks. Attorneys will be eligible for CLE credits pending approval. There is a special luncheon scheduled for Kansas School Attorneys to be able to network and visit with other school attorneys across the state on issues affecting school districts.
