Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit
The Legislative Division of Post Audit provides auditing services to the Legislature at the direction of theLegislative Post Audit Committee,a bipartisan committee comprising five Senators and five Representatives. Our statutory authority and obligations to perform audit work for the Kansas Legislature are defined in the Legislative Post Audit Act (K.S.A. 46-1101 et. seq)and through the Legislative Post Audit Committee's formalrules.Legislative Post Audit helps evaluate whether State government agencies and programs:
- are being run efficiently
- are effective in accomplishing their goals
- have adequate information technology security policies and procedures
Legislative Post Audit also contracts with public accounting firms to perform a variety of financial audits required by State or federal law. These audits cover the State's accounting system and certain State agencies.
