State assessments mark first decline in a decade (9/20/2012) 
   The Kansas State Board of Education received the annual “report card” on state assessments and other indicators on Tuesday, including the news that state reading and math results had dropped for the first time since the current testing began in 2001.
 State Board Update, Legislative Interim Studies Announced (8/16/2012) 
   The Kansas State Board of Education meeting Tuesday and Wednesday was dominated by information items. The Legislative Coordinating Council approved a number of study topics for joint and special committees before the beginning of the 2013 Legislature
 Kansas Receives NCLB Waiver (7/19/2012) 
   Kansas received approval today for flexibility in meeting certain provisions in the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
