Professional Development Options

A well-rounded board and staff development program is essential for school districts. The Kansas Association of School Boards offers several types of training and a variety of materials to assist members with development activities. KASB inservices and consultation services are offered throughout the state on numerous issues each year. Board members, administrators, clerks, other school personnel, school site council members and school attorneys benefit from these learning opportunities. KASB offers several on-site inservices designed to meet local needs. For some, hosting the training locally is advantageous because more individuals from the district are able to participate. Time constraints and travel costs are significantly reduced when training can be conducted in the district. KASB can customize any topic or address specific needs in any district. KASB inservices can range from two-to-three hours to a full day if needed.
Cost Options
Regardless of the number of participants, the cost is a set rate. Some districts have chosen to share costs by joining together to sponsor an inservice and KASB encourages these cooperative arrangements.
